For the 14th glorious year, The Semaphore Music Festival will be bringing the best of South Australian Music to the Semaphore Foreshore and Port Adelaide.
Over four days, during the long September/October weekend, the seductive sounds of blues, the dulcet tones of folk music, and energising indie rock will be bubbling out of our clubs, pubs and businesses.
From Hart’s Mill Flour Shed in Port Adelaide to the Exeter Hotel on Semaphore Road, a veritable who’s who of SA musical luminaries will transform our region into the epicentre for local music.
Other venues include the Semaphore Workers Club, Lickerish Kitchen and Bar, Hades Hula House and The Cumberland. For the second year in a row, the heart of The Semaphore Music Festival will be situated at Hart’s Mill.
The performance roster includes hometown girl Amber Joy Poulton, Blues and Roots acts Exeter Blues, The Memphis Suns, Kings & Associates, Gail Page & Friends, the Young & the Wrestlers, and RoKoUstika among others.
One of the festival’s highlights will be the presentation of homespun composers who’ve penned songs, inspired by the region’s rich history, for the APRA/AMCOS ‘Semaphore Songs’ project.
While music is obviously the main jewel in the festival’s crown, there will be scores and scores of, food, art and market vendors to add another eclectic element to the vibrant and exciting festival.
The Semaphore Music Festivals opens on 28 September at the Semaphore Workers Club and runs to 1 October. Check out the festival schedule on www.semaphoremusicfestival.com. Tickets can be purchased from the festival’s Eventbrite page www.eventbrite.com.au/o/semaphore-music-festival-7951324364.
